Statement On U.S. Tariffs and Upcoming Products

As many of you are aware, the recent U.S. implementation of global tariffs have placed significant financial strain and supply chain disruption on the tabletop gaming industry. Currently, there are no plans from the federal government to lift or ease these tariffs, nor to provide exemptions or relief—particularly for small, independent publishers like ours, who have limited alternatives for sourcing production materials and resources. Everyone is scrambling to find ways to deliver products on time and within stated price points, but even more so, our industry is just scrambling to survive.

At Skydawn Game Studios, we’re working closely with our partners to navigate these challenges and explore the most sustainable production paths, with a primary goal of minimizing any impact on you, our customers.

The good news: The development timeline for Phantasy Star Tabletop Roleplaying remains on track for a Late Summer 2025 release. Assuming the ongoing exemption for printed books includes tabletop RPGs, our core product is not significantly affected and the impact on our end is sustainable.

However, we have been forced to pause plans for additional accessories—including dice, GM screens, and similar items—due to the lack of cost-effective manufacturing options in the U.S. Despite this, we’re continuing to pursue potential opportunities to bring these fan-favorite components to market at some point in the future.

Skydawn Game Studios remains committed to transparency. We promise to keep you informed about any adjustments, delays, or other notable changes to production timelines, costs, product pricing, deliveries, or other related information. We thank you for your continued enthusiasm and support—it means everything to us!
