Learning the Game

Phantasy Star Tabletop uses a familiar dice system loaded with new rules and and a host of unique features. These  options let you customize your game using your favorite aspects from the video game series. You can create your own tales in the Phantasy Star universe or relive the epic adventures of the setting’s iconic heroes.

Galactic Lineages

Each species is customizable using both innate and environmental traits.

Android

Self-aware cybernetic beings with enhanced senses, resistances, and stamina.

Human

The most populous species. Adaptable with a variety of environmental traits.

Newman

Enhanced humanoids. They have heightened senses and natural prowess.

Dezolian

Natives of Dezolis. They have keen instincts and inherent magical abilities.

Motavian

Natives of Motavia. They have natural endurance and can survive in extreme climates.

Musk Cat

Small, agile creatures with cat-like traits and strong ties to mystical forces.

Backgrounds and Bonds

Every story has a beginning. Your character’s background reveals where you came from, how you became who you are today, and how you see your place in the world. Were you a space pilot? A doctor or scientist? Or even a famous actor?

Your character’s bonds define your personal connection to the story and the catalyst between your background and current profession.

Your choice of profession defines your character’s primary capabilities.

Guardian

Heroic defenders and champions of light. They can take on the role of a cosmic defender or aim to deliver swift justice upon the forces of darkness.

Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct establishes that players, game masters, organizers, and all others participating in an official Skydawn Game Studios event or project (“Participants”) have the right to a healthy and safe environment. This Code of Conduct states the following expectations for how Participants will conduct themselves.

  • Respect and Equality: Participants will be treated fairly and with respect, without regard for gender/identity, race, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, religion or absence thereof.
  • No Harassment: Participants will maintain an environment free from physical, verbal, emotional, or sexual harassment. Demeaning, discriminatory, abusive, or harassing behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Boundaries: Individuals have the right to set boundaries for behavior and to ask for problematic behavior to immediately stop. Participants have a right to professional physical boundaries.
  • Sensitive Topics: If the project or event involves sensitive or uncomfortable topics, this should be clear when it is first described to the Participants. Individuals have the right to express discomfort or sensitivity to topics and to request that the topics no longer be presented to them.

Examples of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior can include, but is not limited to, engaging in, advocating for, or encouraging any of the following:

Violating Respect and Equality
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Inequality in pay or work opportunities
Violating No Harassment
  • Violence, threats of violence or violent language. This includes bullying or cyberbullying.
  • Inappropriate physical contact. You must have someone’s consent before touching them.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention. This includes sexualized comments or jokes, inappropriate touching, groping, or unwelcomed flirting or sexual advances.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following (online or in person).
  • Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”).
Violating Boundaries
  • Requiring sharing a hotel room or travel with another Participant or Event Organizer
  • Requiring party attendance
  • Inappropriate photography or recording.
Violating Sensitive Topics
  • Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material.
  • Creating project content that is offensive or otherwise violates the Code of Conduct

Reporting Violations

All Participants are responsible for reporting any violation of this Code of Conduct that they witness, regardless of whether the improper conduct was directed at them. When a violation is witnessed, the following process should be followed*:

  1. SPEAK UP against the behavior as it’s happening, if you feel comfortable doing so – especially if it is directed at someone else. Ask the person(s) to cease the problematic behavior and remind them of the Code of Conduct. Remain calm and professional.
  2. DOCUMENT what took place with screen captures and first-hand accounts when possible. Note the date and time when it took place, the perpetrator, anyone else present, what was said, and whether this is an ongoing or repeat situation.
  3. REPORT what took place to an Organizer or other responsible parties

Enforcement

If you are found to have violated these rules and failed to remedy this violation after a warning, Skydawn Game Studios may take action against you, including banning you from official project, organized play, and other official events. In case of severe violations, Skydawn Game Studios may take these actions without issuing a prior warning.
